How to Scale Google Maps Lead Generation in 2026

Three layers, three answers. Outscraper for bulk, Scavio for per-lead enrichment, hybrid for most agencies.

An r/BusinessHub thread asked the question that every solo agency owner has eventually asked: how do you scale Google Maps lead generation past manual copy-paste? The thread surfaced Outscraper as the leading dedicated scraper. The honest answer in 2026 is more nuanced — pick the layer that matches your actual job.

Three layers, three answers

Layer one: bulk Maps records. Pure Outscraper, $3 per 1,000 records on the basic tier with the first 500/mo free. That's the cheapest end of the stack and the right pick for any job that needs 50K+ records this month.

Layer two: per-lead enrichment plus AI visibility scoring. Scavio Project tier ($30/mo for 7,000 credits) at $0.0043/query covers verify-website plus AI-visibility-score per lead. Outscraper full-profile records cost $14/1K — at the same price band, Scavio gives you agent control instead of records-only.

Layer three: agent-driven personalization. Claude Code attached to Scavio MCP runs the whole prospecting loop in one session: find, verify, score, draft personalized opener.

The hybrid pattern

Most agencies that ship this end up running both. Outscraper for the seed pull (cheap bulk records). Scavio for everything per-lead after (verify, score, personalize). Combined cost stays under $40/mo for a solo agency processing 1,000 leads/week.

The Scavio per-lead flow

Python
import os, requests
API_KEY = os.environ['SCAVIO_API_KEY']
H = {'x-api-key': API_KEY}

def find(city, niche):
    r = requests.post('https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/search', headers=H,
        json={'query': f'{niche} {city}', 'search_type': 'local'}).json()
    return r.get('local_results', [])

def verify(lead):
    if not lead.get('website'): return None
    r = requests.post('https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/extract', headers=H,
        json={'url': lead['website'], 'format': 'markdown'}).json()
    return r.get('markdown', '')[:500]

def visibility_score(lead):
    if not lead.get('website'): return 0
    domain = lead['website'].split('/')[2]
    r = requests.post('https://api.scavio.dev/api/v1/search', headers=H,
        json={'query': f'{lead["name"]} reviews', 'include_ai_overview': True}).json()
    cited = any(domain in c for c in (r.get('ai_overview') or {}).get('citations', []))
    return 100 if cited else 30 if any(domain in o.get('link','') for o in r.get('organic_results',[])[:5]) else 10

The Reddit signal layer that nobody talks about

Local agencies miss a real edge by skipping Reddit. r/Austin, r/personalfinance, r/cars threads about local businesses surface complaints, recommendations, and switch-intent — direct buying signal for B2B sellers (CRM, marketing software, signage, photography). One Reddit query per niche per city adds context that no Maps scraper provides.

Cost math at 1,000 leads/week

Outscraper seed pull: 4,000 records/mo × $3/1K = $12/mo. Scavio verify + score per lead: 4,000 × 2 queries = 8,000 queries — over the Project tier, so $30/mo Project plus a Bootstrap upgrade ($100/mo for 28,000 credits) covers the volume. Total: ~$112/mo for 4,000 fully-enriched, AI-visibility-scored leads. A single retainer-shape client typically covers this 5x over.

What manual copy-paste was actually costing

2 minutes per lead × 1,000 leads/week = 33 hours/week of dead manual work. At $30/hour for a VA, that's $1,000/week of labor. The hybrid stack cuts that to ~$30/week and frees the agency to scale clients instead of operations.

The honest tradeoff

Outscraper alone is the right tool if you don't care about per-lead enrichment. Scavio alone is the right tool if you care about per-lead enrichment more than bulk volume. The hybrid is the right tool when both matter, which is most local agencies in 2026.
